At Bluegrass Gardening, we believe a great landscape is about more than looks. It is about caring for the land and helping it thrive long term. Founder and manager Elber Zepeda learned this early in life while growing up in the southern countryside of Guatemala. Raised on his family’s farm, he spent a lot of time working outdoors and learning the importance of healthy soil, strong plants, and land care. Those early years shaped a deep respect for nature and a passion for creating outdoor spaces that last.
In Guatemala, Elber gained hands-on experience in agriculture and land management, learning how to work with nature instead of against it. He saw how thoughtful care could restore worn-out soil and turn struggling land into productive, living spaces. Wanting to grow professionally, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and later built a career in computer systems, customer service, and sales. Along the way, he developed strong communication and a clear understanding of what clients value.
After moving to Louisville, Kentucky, Elber continued working in customer-focused roles while reconnecting with his passion for gardening and landscape care. He pursued a horticultural certification and combined it with years of hands-on experience in plant health, landscape maintenance, and sustainable gardening practices. Today, Elber brings together practical business experience, and a long-term mindset to provide dependable landscaping services that help lawns and gardens grow healthier year after year.

In 2020, Elber founded Bluegrass Gardening with a simple goal: to create beautiful, eco-friendly outdoor spaces that people can truly enjoy. What started as a small residential landscaping business has grown into a trusted provider of garden and landscape services across Louisville and Southern Indiana.
With a strong focus on sustainability, quality craftsmanship, and natural privacy, Bluegrass Gardening continues to grow while staying true to its roots. The team is committed to helping homeowners create outdoor spaces that feel balanced, healthy, and built to last.
